Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ouarzazate - Merzouga

Your 2-day desert expedition commences from Marrakech with an early morning pick-up from your hotel. Our professional team will escort you as we begin our scenic drive towards the High Atlas Mountains. Ascending through the renowned Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we will make several planned stops to allow you to capture panoramic photographs of the dramatic landscapes and observe the traditional Berber villages nestled within the valleys.

Our journey continues to Ait Benhaddou, a magnificent fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. This iconic location has served as a backdrop for numerous celebrated films, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and the Jewel of the Nile, offering a unique opportunity to walk through cinematic history.

Subsequently, we proceed to Ouarzazate. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, an architecturally significant and spectacular site. Following this, we will traverse the picturesque Rose Valley, passing through the expansive Skoura palm grove, where you can admire countless palms and discover numerous charming kasbahs that define this captivating region.

A break will be taken for lunch before we resume our drive through the Dades and Todra Valleys. Our destination for the evening is the stunning desert dunes of Merzouga. Upon arrival, you will experience the camel trekking adventure through the golden Erg Chebbi desert, timed perfectly to witness an incredible sunset painting the dunes in a palette of warm hues. For those interested, activities such as sandboarding are available at the camp, allowing you to fully engage with the beautiful desert landscapes.

Your overnight stay will be at a comfortable desert camp, where a delicious dinner will be served, followed by an evening of traditional music under the brilliant canopy of stars.

Day 2

Erg Chebbi - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

On the second day, we recommend waking up early to to witness one of the most spectacular sunrises imaginable from the crest of a nearby dune, offering an unparalleled start to your day. As you savor these tranquil moments, a delicious local breakfast will be prepared at the camp, after which you will begin your return journey to Marrakech.

The drive back to Marrakech will take you along a beautiful road, offering continuous natural views. We proceed towards Ouarzazate and traverse the striking Atlas mountain range. Scheduling a stop in the afternoon for lunch, providing a refreshing break. Following, we will continue our scenic drive, concluding our remarkable journey with a convenient drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
