This 2 days desert trip begins from Marrakech as you will be escorted by our team from your hotel in the same city in the early morning to start the departure to the High Atlas Mountains while passing through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and making a few stops on the way for panoramic views and taking pictures of the Berber villages and the stunning landscapes.
We continue our drive to Ait Ben Haddou which is a fortified village that’s been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 and a popular film location as many famous films were recorded in this spectacular location like Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, The mummy.
Our journey continues until we reach Ouarzazate which is best known for being “The gate of the desert”. We’ll get the opportunity to see the Kasbah of Taourirt; a very spectacular place. Afterwards, we’ll be visiting the Rose Valley while going through the big Skoura palm grove where you can contemplate countless palms and numerous kasbahs that are built in this charming area.
We take a break to have lunch then keep moving through the Dades & Todra valleys until we reach the stunning desert dunes in Merzouga and experience the Camel trekking through the golden Erg-Chebbi desert and enjoy the short break to watch the incredible sunset over the dunes. Activities such as sandboarding are available in the camp if you’re interested as you take in the beautiful landscapes.
The overnight stay will be at the desert camp after you have dinner and enjoy the music under
the stars.
On the second day, you’ll get to witness the sunrise when you wake up early in the morning and take in the most spectacular sunrise you have ever seen at the top of a nearby dune near the camp. As you enjoy these moments, a delicious local breakfast will be prepared for you as you get ready to head back to Marrakech.
The journey to Marrakech will go through an exquisite road where you’ll get to enjoy beautiful nature views. We will continue towards Ouarzazate and pass through the Anti Atlas. During the afternoon, we’ll stop for a short break to have lunch then go back on the road to Marrakech to conclude our journey with a drop-off at your accommodation.
